Why This Matters
In many communities in the Northwest Region of Cameroon, when a woman loses her husband, she often loses far more than a partner.
She may lose her source of income, her sense of security, and the support system she depends on to survive. Many widows are left to care for their children alone, facing poverty, social exclusion, and uncertainty about the future.
Without structured social support systems, these women are forced to navigate life’s hardest challenges on their own.
The Anchor and Hope Project exists to change that—to provide stability, support, and a path forward for widows who need it most.

What We Do
Feeding & Wellbeing
We provide monthly food supplies and essential support to widows and their families, helping them meet basic needs and regain stability.
Economic Empowerment
We equip widows with skills and small business support such as tailoring and hairdressing, enabling them to earn income and become self-reliant.
Social Support
Through counselling and community groups, we provide emotional support and a safe space where widows can heal, connect, and rebuild their confidence.
